Cyber Blue returns to Girls, Inc.

On Saturday, May 5th, Cyber Blue was excited to return to Girls, Inc., to help promote girls as leaders in STEM fields. The day was a success! The girls were able to drive our 2009 robot, our 2012 robot, and our VEX robots, as well as having the opportunity to build with LEGOs and learn how to build a simple robot chassis. They also designed some great new buttons for us to give out at competitions! We had a lot of fun with the girls, and hope to return soon!

Championships

Cyber Blue had a tough day and a half at the Championships in St. Louis. We struggled on the first day in the Archimedes division by being 100 out of 100 teams. Cyber Blue was able to fight back onto Friday and Saturday and get picked up by the 5th seeded alliance. We made it to the semi-finals in our division and got beaten out by the division champions. We may not have brought home any awards but we have learned some valuable lessons to improve for next season.

Championship Preparation

We have been hard at work preparing for the Championship! With practicing our robot driving, improving our presentation skills, and preparing our Chairman’s presentation, our team will be plenty busy up until it’s time for St. Louis. We hope many of you will come out and support us!

Boilermaker Regional

Cyber Blue spend March 15-17 at Purdue University for another great Boilermaker Regional! On Thursday we set up our pit and made some changes to our robot with the help of a few practice matches. We ended Friday 3-6 and ended Saturday’s qualification matches 6-6, and were picked by team 3487, the #2 alliance, along with team 461. Although our alliance lost in the semi-finals, we had a ton of fun, and are ready to head to St. Louis for the Championship Event!

Cyber Blue Volunteers at FTC Event

Cyber Blue extended our involvement with FIRST in Indiana by volunteering at the inaugural Indiana FIRST Tech Challenge Championship. During the event we served as MCs, queuing leads, referees, DJ, and safety advisors. We were able to see another side of the FIRST competition for the first time, increasing our appreciation for the hard work and dedication of FIRST volunteers across the country. What a great event!

Boilermaker Regional

Cyber Blue Big Winner at Smoky Mountains Regional!

What a great weekend! We were BIG winners at the Smoky Mountains Regional this past weekend! Working with our great alliance partners 772 and 3259, we won the 54-team competition. We also won the Regional Chairman’s Award, the Website Award, and the Innovation in Contol Award! Thanks to a great all-around TEAM effort!
